SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY
Senior adults at First Baptist church are highly valued. Their years of experience and spiritual maturity provide a deep pool of wisdom, stability and strength for our church.
Because our senior adults believe that there is no retirement plan for Christian growth, we offer several discipleship opportunities. We provide Sunday morning Bible studies for "young" seniors, "middle" seniors and "senior" seniors. We also have small groups for seniors. The monthly Forever Young Luncheons feature fellowship, discipleship, information and inspiration. Our senior adult choir, "Inspiration Singers", offers muscial opportunities for all senior men and women.
Seniors enjoy traveling and our Senior Adult Council plans several trips each year! Check below for upcoming events and registration deadlines.

Forever Young Luncheons:
2nd Mondays of each month at 11:45 am in the Fellowship Hall from September - May. Cost is: $5.00 - Reservations should be made by the 1st Monday of the month (don't forget to cancel reservation if your plans change!). Bring a friend!
January 9: "A Missionary's Journey" with Sue Singleton, Cambodia
February 13: "Valentine's Day and God's Love" with Shanon Cheney
March 12: "World Praying" with Janice Gravely
April 9: "Crisis Pregnancy Center Ministry" with Rene Cary. We will "Shower" the Pregnancy Care Center with newborn baby clothing and diapers (Newborn - Size 4)
May 14: "ECU Ministry" with Jonathan Tyndall
Inspiration Singers: Mondays (weekly) at 10:45 am in the choir suite from September - May

Day trip to the watefowl park in Scotland Neck, NC. The Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park is designed to give visitors an unforgettable up-close experience with over 1,500 ducks, geese, swans, and other exotic birds from around the world. Cost is $10.00 person. A box lunch is available for $3.50 each. Deposit due by Monday, April 9. Registration is closed when we fill the vans!
May 1, 2012 (Tuesday)
North Roanoke Associational Senior Adult Spring Luncheon in Roanoke Rapids at Calvary Baptist Church. Cost is $8.00/person due by Monday, April 9.
June 7, 2012 (Thursday)
Join us for a day trip to Richmand, VA to see the historic Tiffany stained glass windows of St. Paul's Church and for a guided tour of the International Mission Board (no cost). We will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense). Reservations will be closed when the vans are full.
