2012 Uganda Medical Mission Trip
Janaury 29 - February 11, 2012

On Sunday, January 29, 2012, eleven people will leave from different places in the US heading toward Northern Uganda for the 2012 Westminster Medical Missions trip. This will be the 19th year that we have been going to Uganda and the 8th trip from Rocky Mount.

Bill Harden, Becky Harden and Brock Swanson will represent FBC Rocky Mount, Tera Joyner, Susan Alston and Clyde Davis will represent Pilot Baptist Church in Zebulon.  Gayle Alston will be coming from Atlanta, David Duritza from West VA.  Jesse Weser from Charlotte, Sarah Rodes from Roanoke, VA and Dr. Lisa Nelson-Robinson (our surgeon) also from Rocky Mount.

Inflation is at 22% and the cost of everything has dramatically increased although salaries have not increased.

Our goals are many but have not really changed that much over the years.  To share the love and compassion of Christ to all we meet is always our main reason for going.  Remember James 2:14-17 (I especially like The Message translation): "Dear friends, do you think you'll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything?  Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it?  For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, "Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ!  Be filled with the Holy Spirit!" and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup - where does that get you?  Isn't it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?"

So, we ask for prayer for our journey, our safety, that all of our supplies would reach our destination in a timely manner. Most importantly, that we would clearly see God and the work that He has for us.

We leave January 29th and return February 11th.  Allen Parker & Pete Bradshaw are in charge of our transportation to and from Washington Dulles.

Thank you - and remember that we will be praying for you also.
