Jeff began his ministry at First Baptist in October 2019. He previously served churches in Georgia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. He has earned degrees from Brewton Parker College, Mercer University, Southern Seminary, and most recently, the Doctor of Worship Studies degree from The Robert E. Webber School of Worship Studies. His career experience in ministry has largely been in the areas of music, worship, and administration. As a pastoral musician, Jeff’s greatest desire is to use music and the arts as formational tools to help create spaces for worshipers to divinely encounter their Creator.
Jeff is married to his best friend and love of his life, Lisa, who currently serves as an assistant principal at Rolesville High School. They are the proud parents of two grown children, Brandon and Kathryn, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Sally, and have two nearly perfect grandchildren, Skylar and Jaxon. When not working, Jeff enjoys reading, cooking on the green egg, watching college sports, and figuring out how to make technology work for him.
Minister to Homebound
Bob was called to serve First Baptist as Minister to Homebound in 2003. Bob retired after 38 years in the mortgage banking industry and held positions in several different companies before being called to First Baptist. He and wife Susan have two daughters, who are both married, and eight grandchildren.
Bob feels a special calling to minister to sick and homebound members. He wants them to be nurtured and prayed for, allowing them to know that there are valuable members of First Baptist even though they are no longer physically able to attend.

Bethany grew up in New Bern, NC and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in psychology. She is now the wonderful mother to our 1 year old son Marcus and we are preparing together to welcome the newest addition to our family, Elinore. She is due in late April.
Our desire as a family is to shepherd the youth of the church during one of the most pivotal times in their lives. It is our job and commitment to you to come along side of families in the spiritual growth of their children. I believe it is my calling and my joy to do this.
Pastor Luke was called by First Baptist to serve as Pastor in April 2018. He was raised in the Charlotte area and attended Appalachian State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Communication. He went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. Pastor Luke comes to Rocky Mount from Boone, NC, where he served two different churches in nine years of ministry.
Luke is married to his high school sweetheart, Amy. Together they have three daughters. Luke and Amy enjoy building relationships with anyone and everyone. They believe that aside from the Word of God and the Spirit of God, relationships are the greatest tool God uses to draw people to himself. Luke and Amy are grateful to serve at First Baptist Church and look forward to how God will use First Baptist for His glory in the Rocky Mount community.
